Structural Works has particular expertise in the efficient design of housing and low-rise domestic structures including medium density apartments utilising multi-residential timber-framed construction. We traditionally handle large volumes of relatively standard structures and have developed systems to design efficient structures for the benefit of our clients.
Footing design has been a focus with waffle raft, raft and piled systems utilised.
The company has amongst the best practitioners in timber, concrete and steel design in our area of works.
All drawings and most computations are produced on computer and as such can be emailed if required.
Stormwater designs for unit developments and housing have been one of the new areas of expansion for the business. Our Civil team has developed extensive expertise over a relatively short period. We now offer a complete service including qualified field surveys as required. Detention systems are more widely required as existing infrastructure becomes pushed to its limit by re-development. We have software to cater for all design requirements.
Footing Designs
A focus of the company since inception has been the efficient design of footing systems for volume builders in the metropolitan area. This has translated over time to be a fast service for large and small builders, for drafting services, architects, developers and individuals. Anyone that wants fast, efficient and well-designed structures tend to use our services. The utilization of our Geotechnical reports adds efficiency. Our reports are geared to giving the information required for our individual clients. Bearing capacity for pier design is an example of this; our Geotechnical engineers give the maximum value applicable to the soil, rather than simply assuming 100 kPa will be sufficient.
Complete Packages
The company has extensive experience in servicing several large builders with cost effective packages involving soil test, foundation and structural design through to the provision of all services necessary for the issue of a building permit.
